UNC Health Southeastern Pre-Procedure Assessment and Education Center
We provide testing and information for patients who are scheduled to have surgery at UNC Health Southeastern.
When your surgery has been scheduled, a pre-admission testing (PAT) nurse will contact you to ask questions about your health history, including medications and allergies. You may also be scheduled for an appointment at our center to go over this information.
If you are scheduled for an appointment, which may take one or two hours, please bring your current medications. After an appointment, you may be scheduled for additional testing before your surgery. Based on the information we gather at the appointment, you may also have to visit your primary care provider or a specialist before being cleared for surgery.
It’s important that you speak with a PAT nurse before surgery. If you have not spoken to the nurse before your procedure date, call us at 910-671-5545.
