Support for Jersey Mike’s of Lumberton’s Month and Day of Giving Exceeds Fundraising Goal for Local Healthcare
Jersey Mike’s of Lumberton teamed up with the UNC Health Southeastern Foundation for a successful Month and Day of Giving in March as part of the restaurant’s national initiative to support local charities around the country.
Community support for the Lumberton Jersey Mike’s Month and Day of Giving to benefit the UNC Health Southeastern Foundation resulted in funds raised in excess of $20,000.
“We are humbled by the amount of support that was demonstrated by our community, teammates, as well as the employees and owners of Jersey Mike’s to support local health initiatives through our Foundation,” said UNC Health Southeastern President & CEO Chris Ellington. “We were hoping to raise a record-breaking amount through this successful partnership, and we exceeded that goal.”
A combination of giving through rounding up for purchases throughout the month of March, as well as 100 percent of sales on the March 26 Day of Giving, resulted in the successful goal amount reached through the partnership.
“We are overwhelmed with gratitude by the generosity of Jersey Mike’s Subs of Lumberton,” said UNC Health Southeastern Foundation Board Chair Ron Roach. “Our community is better because of both UNC Health Southeastern and Jersey Mike’s Subs, and the collaboration between them toward this fundraising goal was impressive.”
At the first nationwide fundraiser in 2011, all of Jersey Mike’s 454 locations raised $600,000 for 66 charities. Since then, Jersey Mike’s annual Month of Giving has raised more than $113 million for hundreds of local charities. This March, Jersey Mike’s hoped to exceed last year’s record-breaking national fundraising total of $25 million and help local charities striving to fulfill their missions and make a difference. Not only did our local Jersey Mike’s exceed our goal, but nationally Jersey Mike’s exceeded their goal with over $30 million being raised to support over 200 local charities throughout the nation.
In each market, Jersey Mike’s owners select charities that support local neighborhoods to build stronger communities. In Lumberton, the local Jersey Mike's owners, Jamie and Daniel Terracciano of Page Investment Group, donated all resources and sales to the UNC Health Southeastern Foundation for the third consecutive year.
“The success of this year’s Day of Giving is a testament to the generosity of our community, the steadfast work and dedication of our Lumberton Jersey Mike’s team, and the incredible work of the UNC Health Southeastern Foundation,” said Daniel Terracciano. “When we come together with a shared purpose, we can make a real difference. We’re proud to play a role in supporting local healthcare and look forward to continuing this tradition of giving back.”
