Jersey Mike's Hospital Week Fundraiser Generates $8,000 for UNC Health Southeastern Foundation

A community fundraiser created by Jersey Mike's of Lumberton owners Daniel and Jamie Terracciano has generated an $8,000 gift for UNC Health Southeastern Foundation.
The Made to Share fundraiser was launched after Jersey Mike's national Month of Giving campaign selected a different charitable cause for all Jersey Mike’s locations this year. Wanting to continue their tradition of supporting UNC Health Southeastern, the Terraccianos dedicated 20 percent of sales during Hospital Week to the Foundation.
Hospital Week is celebrated annually to recognize the physicians, nurses, clinical professionals, support staff, volunteers, and many others who care for patients and families throughout the year. Daniel and Jamie selected Hospital Week as an opportunity to honor those caregivers while inviting the community to support its hospital.
Throughout the week, community members, local businesses, Foundation supporters, and UNC Health Southeastern teammates participated in the fundraiser, helping raise a total of $8,000.
"Daniel and Jamie have always found ways to support our hospital and our community," said UNC Health Southeastern Foundation Executive Director Sissy Grantham. "When this year's national campaign took a different direction, they created an opportunity for our community to come together and support its hospital. Their generosity, leadership, and commitment to giving back continue to make a difference, and we are grateful for everyone who participated in making this fundraiser such a success."
The proceeds have been designated to the Foundation's Critical Needs Fund. The fund allows the Foundation to respond to needs and opportunities across UNC Health Southeastern as they arise, providing support where it can make the greatest impact.
"We have always believed in supporting the community that supports us," said Daniel Terracciano. "Hospital Week felt like the perfect time to recognize the people who care for our families, friends, and neighbors every day. We are thankful for everyone who came out and helped make this fundraiser possible. The support we saw throughout the week was incredible, and we're already looking forward to Jersey Mike's Month of Giving next March and joining our community once again on the Day of Giving on March 24 to support UNC Health Southeastern Foundation and the important work happening at our local hospital."
For Daniel and Jamie, supporting the hospital is a natural extension of their commitment to the community they serve. Over the years, they and their team have partnered with UNC Health Southeastern Foundation on numerous events, projects, and initiatives that have benefited patients, teammates, and families throughout the region.
"This gift will help us address needs as they arise and support areas where funding can make an immediate difference," Grantham said. "We are thankful to Daniel and Jamie, the Jersey Mike's team, and everyone who chose to participate. This was truly a community effort."
