Jersey Mike's Gives Back During Hospital Week
Jersey Mike’s of Lumberton has grown into more than a place to grab a great sub. It is a trusted partner to UNC Health Southeastern and a consistent presence in the life of this community.
Since opening their Lumberton location, Daniel and Jamie Terracciano have set the standard for what it means to be a good neighbor. Their support has taken many forms over the years, from leading Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving with UNC Health Southeastern Foundation as the beneficiary, to providing meals and donated items for Foundation events, to stepping in whenever the hospital has a need. They do not just participate. They lead with action.
This year is no exception.
While Jersey Mike’s national Month of Giving supported Special Olympics, Daniel and Jamie made the decision to ensure our local hospital would still be part of something impactful. Their answer is “Made to Share,” a Hospital Week initiative where 20 percent of all sales from May 11 through May 15 will benefit UNC Health Southeastern Foundation.
“At Jersey Mike’s, we believe our responsibility goes beyond the four walls of our stores to serving our communities in meaningful ways,” said Daniel Terracciano, owner of Jersey Mike’s of Lumberton. “We’ve always believed in giving to give, and supporting our local hospital matters deeply to us. UNC Health Southeastern plays a critical role in caring for Lumberton, and ‘Made to Share’ is our way of standing alongside them and directly supporting the care they provide to this community.”
It is a simple idea with real impact. A good sub. A good cause. A community that cares.
Their support has already made an impact across our hospital, helping fund digital communication boards that enhance the patient experience, advancing the Delivering for Women initiative to strengthen women’s health services, and supporting our Critical Need Fund to respond when needs arise.
“We are grateful not only for their generosity, but for the relationship we share,” said Sissy Grantham, executive director of the UNC Health Southeastern Foundation. “We are just down the road from each other, and that connection is reflected in the way we care for the same people, serve the same families, and invest in this community every day.”
“Made to Share” is more than a fundraiser. It is neighbors showing up for neighbors.
During Hospital Week, May 11 through May 15, the community is invited to take part. Stop by Jersey Mike’s of Lumberton, place an order, and be part of something that gives back. Support UNC Health Southeastern and celebrate a local business that continues to stand with this community.
“Hospital Week gives us the opportunity to recognize the extraordinary people behind the care,” said UNC Health Southeastern President and CEO Chris Ellington.” “I am incredibly proud of our teammates and the compassion and commitment they bring to our patients and families every day. We are equally grateful for partners like Daniel, Jamie, and the Jersey Mike’s of Lumberton team, whose generosity strengthens our ability to care for this community when it matters most.”
