Gala Offers Opportunity to Support Healthcare Technology
The UNC Health Southeastern Foundation will host their annual signature gala event, this year themed Elegant Escapade - Gala of Grateful Giving presented by Metcon, funds from which will support electronic communication boards throughout UNC Health Southeastern’s medical center.
To date, the Foundation has raised $187,600 toward their goal of $250,000 to support the integration of modernized, individual monitors eventually available in every room, and designed to improve patient communication, experience, coordination of care, and safety.
“We’d like to invite the community to join us for this event, which will offer a great experience while supporting enhanced healthcare for our local hospital and its patients,” said Gala Co-Chair Linda Branch. “These digital boards were added first to the new women’s health services unit with plans to deploy to other inpatient units in the near future. It is another way that our local hospital is surpassing the expectations for a rural hospital in the types of services and technology that are offered to patients.”
The digital communication boards will replace traditional dry-erase boards you currently see in most hospital patient rooms. With information that is up-to-the-minute accurate, patients and their concerned families can benefit from knowing their overall treatment plan including: mobility status, fall risk, scheduled procedures and testing, nutritional needs, and much more.
The black-tie event will be held Friday, Feb. 28 at the Southeastern Agricultural Center in Lumberton. The Soul Psychedelique Orchestra, presented by the Robeson County Board of Commissioners, will provide the evening’s entertainment.
“This event is a wonderful collaboration between our Foundation team and community volunteers who serve on our gala committee,” said Foundation Executive Director Sissy Grantham. “Our co-chairs, Linda Branch, along with Debbie and Greg Branyon, are leading the way for an event that will be both memorable and successful to support our cause.
