The Clinic at Brisson Drugs to Change Ownership

UNC Health Southeastern, in partnership with UNC Heath Medical Group, announce the transition of ownership and management of The Clinic at Brisson Drugs to Brisson Drugs owner Joe Williams, PharmD.

“The clinic originally opened in July 2019 as a partnership with UNC Health Southeastern and Brisson Drugs,” said UNC Health Southeastern President and CEO Chris Ellington. “Joe Williams shares our mutual desire to serve the communities where we live and transitioning this service to local ownership is outstanding.  We are pleased that Joe has decided to adopt this service into his existing business model and continue to provide same day healthcare services to the St. Pauls community.”

Williams owns several pharmacy locations throughout the region; however, the St. Pauls location is the only one that offers a health clinic within the pharmacy.

“This model offers a level of convenience for our patients that we felt was important to continue,” said Williams. “We are excited to partner with Family Nurse Practitioner Matthew Herring as we expand the clinic’s services. While we will continue to treat minor acute conditions in a convenient, same-day setting similar to an urgent care, our focus is also shifting toward providing comprehensive primary care. This allows us to offer continuity of care so patients can not only address immediate health concerns, but also establish long-term relationships centered on preventive care and overall wellness.”
