Long Honored in Becker's Supply Chain Leaders for 2026 List

Becker's Hospital Review released the 2026 edition of its "Hospital and health system supply chain leaders to know" list, featuring UNC Heath Southeastern Supply Chain Management Director Candace Long.
Supply chain leaders are the skilled leaders working behind the scenes to ensure that care is never compromised by an empty shelf, a missed shipment or an operational breakdown. The executives recognized on this list bring deep expertise to one of healthcare's most complex and consequential functions, which helps secure meaningful cost savings, cultivate the strategic partnerships that strengthen organizations, and keep intricate logistics running with precision. From large-scale disruptions like the pandemic to smaller challenges, these leaders meet roadblocks with ingenuity and resolve, emerging with operations that are smarter, stronger and better prepared for the future.
Long's entry reads: “Ms. Long has led her organization through two major supply chain system implementations during UNC Health Southeastern’s integration with Chapel Hill, N.C.-based UNC Health, ensuring operational stability during times of transition. In her role, Ms. Long chairs the UNC Health supply chain guidelines and procedures committee, serves on the systemwide supply chain leadership team and represents her community hospital on the value analysis team. She works closely with the group purchasing organization to identify programs that improve contract utilization and drive cost savings. Ms. Long was promoted to director in May 2022 after serving as interim director for more than six months.”
