Avila-Galeana Joins Gray’s Creek Clinic
Certified Family Nurse Practitioner Marquilla Avila-Galeana has joined the care team at UNC Health Family Medicine at Gray’s Creek, offering healthcare services in both English and Spanish as walk-in or by appointment.
A Robeson County native, Avila-Galeana lives in St. Pauls with her husband, Francisco, their two daughters and two sons. She has a special interest in urgent and acute care for patients ages 2 and up, as well women’s health, having worked on the Maternal/Child Health Services unit at UNC Health Southeastern for more than seven years. She also worked with the women’s health program for two years and as an interpreter for four years, both at the Robeson County Health Department. Before joining UNC Health Family Medicine at Gray’s Creek, she provided care at The Clinic at Brisson Drugs in St. Pauls.
Avila-Galeana earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from UNC Pembroke in 2015. She completed a master’s degree in nursing with a family nurse practitioner focus from Duquesne University School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, Pa., in 2021.
