General Surgeon Dr. Sam Britt Retirement Celebration

UNC Health Southeastern hosted a retirement reception on April 5, 2024, for General Surgeon Dr. Sam Britt.
A Lumberton native, Dr. Britt was affiliated with UNC Health Southeastern since 1985. Before he retired in late 2023, he treated patients at UNC Health Surgical Specialists at Southeastern Health Mall.
Dr. Britt earned his medical degree at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and completed residency training in general surgery at Charlotte Memorial Hospital and Medical Center. After his residency, he joined Lumberton’s medical community.
He served as the Cancer Liaison Physician for UNC Health Southeastern’s Cancer Committee and held positions at UNC Health Southeastern including Medical Staff President and Department of Surgery Chairman. He was credentialed to perform robotic surgery using the da Vinci Xi Surgical System.
Dr. Britt was the 2019 recipient of UNC Health Southeastern’s Dr. D.E. Ward, Jr., Provider of Excellence Award.
